The contribution of Fondazione Acutis to the energy efficiency of the Center’s buildings
The Bethlehem Foundation of Mouda in Cameroon was founded in 1997 by Father Danilo Fenaroli, (a missionary of PIME – Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions). Today, it is the only institution in the Far North region of Cameroon that provides comprehensive support and social reintegration for people in need.
The Bethlehem Center of Mouda is a project of the PIME Foundation.
The Bethlehem Foundation, through the Bethlehem Center of Mouda, focuses its activities on promoting the socio-economic development of socially vulnerable individuals and groups (orphaned and/or abandoned newborns, children and adults with disabilities, widows without support, single mothers, and the elderly) in the Far North region of Cameroon and several villages along the border with Chad.
In 2024, the Fondazione Acutis, with the support of a generous donor, launched a project to install solar panels on the central structures of the Center (which provide health and rehabilitation services) and on the buildings known as Sarè (residential homes for children and young people at the Center). This initiative was designed to enhance the energy efficiency of the facilities while promoting the use of renewable energy sources, in alignment with principles of environmental sustainability.
