The classics of Christian literature, affordable for everyone
Culture belongs to everyone, and with this project, the Foundation wants to make the great classic authors accessible even for the most disadvantaged students, thanks to a contribution that will make it possible to sell a number of important texts of ancient, mediaeval and modern Christian literature at an affordable price.
The works concerned are the collection “I Talenti”, and its sister collection, the renowned French series “Sources Chrétiennes”, with which it shares the same style characteristics, approach and content.
The two collections complement one another: I Talenti contains those fundamental writings that form the base of the Eastern and Western, Christian and non-Christian cultural traditions.
Details
Each volume is composed of a lengthy historical and theological introduction; at least one chapter dedicated to matters of philology and language; text in the original language (Latin, Greek, etc.) in its critical version; Italian translation of the ancient text on the page opposite; various levels of notes (biblical; regarding variants of textual criticism; parallel passages; notes explaining the content).
Although the production of each volume is very expensive, the project will make it accessible even to people in financial difficulty.
